# Historic dialogue classifications

Analyze historic dialogue classification trends and rates in Dialogue Insights.

The historic dialogue classifications report shows how agents classify dialogues and how classification trends change over time.

For shared historic report refresh timing, filters, menu, cards, and settings, see [Historic reporting dashboard](/use/monitor-and-report/dialogue-insights/historic-reporting-dashboard.md).

The screenshots use example data. The overview navigation has been updated to match the production report.

## Before you start

You need access to the historic dialogue classifications report and to the contact centers you want to review.

## Read the cards

Cards present classification metrics.

| Card                     | What it shows                                                                                                                     |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Dialogues Handled** | Dialogues handled by an agent for the selected period, contact centers, and skills. This includes inbound and outbound dialogues. |
| **Dialogues Classified** | Dialogues classified by an agent for the selected period, contact centers, and skills. |
| **Classification Rate** | Percentage of dialogues classified by an agent compared with total dialogues handled by an agent. |

Large differences are shortened for readability:

|  Source value | Displayed as |
| ------------: | -----------: |
|         1,250 |         1.3K |
|     1,250,000 |         1.3M |
| 1,250,000,000 |         1.3B |

## Read the visuals

The classifications report includes these visuals:

| Visual                           | What it shows                                                                                                                           |
| -------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Classification Details** | Unique classification combinations, up to five levels, with the number of dialogues and the percentage represented by each combination. |
| **Top Level Classifications** | First-level classifications ordered from most assigned to least assigned. |
| **Classification Rate by Agent** | Dialogues handled by agent, dialogues classified by agent, and resulting classification rate. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://atlas.anywhere.now/use/monitor-and-report/dialogue-insights/historic-dialogue-classifications.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
