# Manage personal Dialogue AI Assist suggestions

Create and maintain personal Dialogue AI Assist suggestions for reusable webchat replies in WebAgent.

Personal suggestions are reusable webchat replies that you create for yourself. They can appear as suggestions while you chat with customers in WebAgent.

## Before you begin

Make sure that:

* Dialogue AI Assist is enabled for your user account;
* you have access to the Dialogue AI Assist dashboard for your organization;
* your account can use the Personal Collection or equivalent personal-suggestion area.

If you cannot open the dashboard or personal-suggestion area, contact your supervisor or administrator.

## Open your personal suggestions

To open your personal suggestions:

1. Open your organization's Dialogue AI Assist dashboard.
2. Sign in with the method provided for your organization.
3. Open **Personal Collection** or the personal-suggestion area shown in your environment.

From this area, you can view, add, edit, search, and delete your own suggestions.

## Add a personal suggestion

To add a personal suggestion:

1. Select the option to add a personal suggestion.
2. Enter the suggestion text.
3. Set the language if your environment asks for it.
4. Save the suggestion.

The suggestion becomes available for your own webchat conversations after it is saved.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Write personal suggestions as complete, customer-ready messages. Avoid including confidential information, credentials, or details that are only correct for one customer.
{% endhint %}

## Edit or delete a personal suggestion

To update an existing suggestion:

1. Find the suggestion in your personal-suggestion list.
2. Select the edit option, or edit the text inline if your environment supports inline editing.
3. Save your changes.

To remove a suggestion:

1. Find the suggestion in your personal-suggestion list.
2. Select the delete option.
3. Confirm the deletion if prompted.

## Search personal suggestions

Use the search field in your personal-suggestion area to find messages by keyword.

If your environment provides layout controls, you can change how the suggestion list is displayed.

## Use variables in suggestions

Variables are replaced with conversation or user details when the suggestion is used.

You can use these variables when they are available in your environment:

| Variable         | Replacement                     |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------- |
| `{visitor_name}` | The customer's name.            |
| `{agent_name}`   | Your name.                      |
| `{part_of_day}`  | Morning, afternoon, or evening. |
| `{day_of_week}`  | The day of the week.            |

{% hint style="info" %}
Variable availability and replacement behavior can depend on your organization's setup and the customer information available in the conversation.
{% endhint %}

For `{part_of_day}` and `{day_of_week}`, the replacement can depend on the message language. The `{part_of_day}` value can also depend on the client's timezone configuration.

## Use placeholders in suggestions

Placeholders mark text that you must replace before sending the message. Add placeholder text between braces.

Examples:

* `{email}`
* `{date}`
* `{amount}`
* `{order_number}`

Use underscores for placeholders that contain more than one word, such as `{order_number}`.

When you use a suggestion with placeholders, replace each placeholder with the correct customer-specific information before you send the message.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Do not send a message until all placeholders have been replaced with the correct information.
{% endhint %}

## Update your profile details

Your profile can provide default values for personal suggestions.

Depending on your environment, you can update:

* your display name, which can be used for `{agent_name}`;
* your default language or locale, which can be used for suggestion language behavior.

If your name field is empty, your first name can be used as the replacement for `{agent_name}`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://atlas.anywhere.now/use/handle-conversations/dialogue-ai-assist/manage-personal-suggestions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
