# Update Wallboard

Update an installed Wallboard client with the current Wallboard MSI package.

Use the current Wallboard MSI package when you update an installed local Wallboard client.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Update Wallboard during a maintenance window or low-traffic period for the affected workstation. The local client is unavailable while the update wizard runs and until Wallboard is restarted.
{% endhint %}

## Before you begin

Confirm the following before you update Wallboard:

* You have the current Wallboard MSI package from AnywhereNow or an authorized AnywhereNow partner.
* The workstation already has Wallboard installed.
* Wallboard is closed on the workstation.
* You know which UCC and default view should load after the update.

## Update the client

1. Run the current Wallboard MSI package.
2. Accept the license terms.
3. Install the Wallboard feature.
4. Finish the wizard.
5. Restart Wallboard from the shortcut.

## Validate the update

After the update:

1. Confirm that Wallboard starts from the installed shortcut.
2. Confirm that the configured UCC still loads.
3. Confirm that the expected default view still loads.
4. Confirm that the view shows current queue, skill, agent, or reason-code information for the customer's configuration.

If Wallboard does not connect or does not show expected data, use [Troubleshoot Wallboard](/use/existing-dialogue-cloud-neo-connect-apps/wallboard/troubleshooting.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://atlas.anywhere.now/platform-administration/maintenance-mode-applications/wallboard/update-wallboard.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
