# Configure Snapper DCI

Configure Direct Call Interceptor for Snapper.

Direct Call Interceptor (DCI) lets Snapper handle outbound dialogue through the Snapper dial pad. This guidance applies to Snapper for existing Dialogue Cloud Neo (Connect) customers.

{% hint style="info" %}
User operation for DCI and Call on Behalf is documented in the Snapper user guidance. This page covers administrator configuration.
{% endhint %}

## Choose the configuration model

Use the configuration model that matches the customer's bundle.

### Before bundle DC2023.03

1. Add a default skill named `DCISkill` to the UCC.
2. Configure the user as an agent in the UCC.
3. Assign the agent to the `DCISkill` skill.
4. Optional: add `EnableDtmfInDirectDialerSession` to the settings list to send DTMF tones to the contact.

### Bundle DC2023.03 and later

1. Add `UseOutboundCalling` to UCC general settings.
2. Optional: add `EnableDtmfInDirectDialerSession` to the settings list to send DTMF tones to the contact.

When `UseOutboundCalling` is configured, all agents are eligible for calling from the UCC.

## Configure Call on Behalf

For the Call on Behalf menu and endpoint behavior, configure these settings:

| Setting                           | Required value                | Purpose                                                                            |
| --------------------------------- | ----------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `UseOutboundAudioRecording`       | `true`                        | Enables outbound audio-recording behavior required by the Call on Behalf flow.     |
| `EnableOutboundInterception`      | `true` as of bundle DC2024.01 | Enables outbound interception.                                                     |
| `UseOriginalIdentityWithOutbound` | `false` | Allows the selected UCC to determine from which UCC the outbound dialogue is made. |

## Verify DCI

1. Start Snapper as a configured test agent.
2. Select the expected UCC.
3. Open the Snapper dial pad.
4. Place a controlled outbound test call.
5. Confirm that the outbound dialogue is created from the expected UCC.
6. If `EnableDtmfInDirectDialerSession` is configured, confirm that DTMF tones can be sent during the test call.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://atlas.anywhere.now/platform-administration/maintenance-mode-applications/snapper/configure-snapper-dci.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
